Bathsheba’s beguiling bath of intrigue

David Sees Bathsheba Bathing

Bathsheba bathingAs you know, your grandfather Ahithophel’s mansion is directly adjacent and slightly below the king’s rooftop garden. I have observed David often engaged in his regular and predictable evening ritual. His maidservant known for her gossip when she is in her cups confided in me that David rests most days and arises just before sundown, the time of poets and philosophers. He goes up directly to his rooftop garden alone most every day when he is in attendance for quiet prayer and meditation. David is known for staying up late and long into the night.

Bathsheba shook her head. What are you getting at Almah? Almah, with a wicked wink, laid out her plan of conspiracy and seduction. Ahithophel’s rooftop has a mikveh, the ceremonial bath that can collect rainwater and purify you from your uncleanness once your regular issue of blood had ended and then judged sanctified by the law, but not until after sundown. At the very same time, I might add, that David will be on his rooftop retreat and in full view of your natural beauty, just like God made you.” “I am both puzzled and enchanted by your outrageous proposal,” Bathsheba curiously continued, “But he already has six wives, does he not?” “Yes, my lady, he does, but he also has a keen eye for beautiful women. David is brilliant; he is handsome as he is virile and a renowned poet-musician. There is no prohibition in the Torah for the number of wives a man might acquire. It is good to consider that David is king, and no one says no to the king for such would be treason.”

“Bathsheba lamented, “There is a flaw in your cunning plan for I have not had an issue of blood since the dreadful end to my pregnancy. I believe God has sealed up my womb and has taken away my creative spark.” Almah, would not be dissuaded, and said as much, “Your flow will begin again, I know it, and your health renewed. A new life will be your reward for God blesses his faithful. When your issue of blood ceases the ritual mikveh bath filled to the brim with rainwater will purify your unclean period. Then and only then we will be ready to entice the unsuspecting prince on the roof of your grandfather’s mansion.”

Just as Almah had predicted, Bathsheba’s natural monthly cycle reappeared with cramping, fatigue, and eruptions of anger. Almah was delighted that her prophetic insight had so rapidly come to pass. Almah insisted, “It is time to prepare, we will go to the mansion and help make ready for the mikveh bath. Your timing is crucial; you need to be exiting the tub just as David approaches the very edge of his overhead balcony. The sun still emitting enough light so that he can feast his eyes on your youthful nakedness, glistening wet, vivid, and striking.

Early afternoon found the two plotters setting off for the house of Ahithophel. “If we are well-prepared fate and luck will ensure our success.” Almah quipped. “Where is Uriah, your doting husband, will he not be curious as to your whereabouts?” Bathsheba shook her head, “No, not at all; he is on a training mission in the desert. There is some invasion or big battle about to take place. Uriah is very closed-mouthed about such happenings.”

The two women briskly approached the mansion they entered freely being recognized as family.” Where is my grandfather, Bathsheba inquired?” The head servant replied, “The master is away in a foreign land, an ambassador promoting the goodwill of the king. I believe he is on a trading mission to Egypt” The two women smiled at each other for the timing of Ahithophel’s absence could not have made things easier.

Almah, addressed the head servant, “We need to prepare the mikveh for my lady’s purification ritual. Gather up the rainwater from the rooftop cisterns. Heat the water at the downstairs hearth and fill the tub until it is steaming hot. Most importantly make sure everything stands ready so that my lady can enter into the water shortly before sundown and while the light from the dying sun still lingers on the horizon.”

All the needful things were in their proper place. The sun and the stage were both ready to set.

Bathsheba disrobed her stunning figure brightening the dimming light. She slipped into the steamy brazen tub moaning with delight — the warm water began caressing her tingling flesh and heightening her senses.

Almah kept a watchful eye until she spotted David’s long shadow approaching from his upper gallery. Almah hissed, “He comes.” At the perfect moment, Bathsheba stood up dripping wet, water droplets glistening in the freshly lit torchlight. She refrained from looking up as she felt hungry eyes drinking in her primal beauty.

Almah approached with a warm towel, slowly circling the tub squeezing out every desire filled second. Almah began by drying her mistress, shrewdly patting Bathsheba’s shapely legs, rounded buttocks, and dabbing gently at upturned breasts.

David was enchanted, a tempest of lust washed over him with every sensual gesture. His eyes are straining against the deepening dark for one more fading glimpse of this mysterious vixen. The two women hoisted the flaming torches and disappeared behind closed doors leaving a void where only moments before David’s exotic fantasy was born.

David still reeling from the hot sweat of passion desperately inquired of all his household servants, saying, “A strange woman has suddenly appeared like a water nymph bathing on Ahithophel rooftop bath. Who is this bewitching creature?

Author Joseph Ganci Announces New Spiritual Book Detailing Epic Adventures, ‘Gideon: The Sound and The Glory’

In this innovative debut, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action.

Author Joseph Ganci has announced the release of his spiritually inspiring book, ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory.’

Ganci pierces the veil with a penetrating vision of long held Bible mysteries that are far and away daring and unusual. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

The rock-solid cornerstone is biblical history and geography.
The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.
The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Unsung heroes and murderous villains, hidden forever in ancient shadows, now leap to life – blazing onto the pages of revelation. Gideon, a lowly woodcutter, is blessed by an angel to be the savior of all Israel. He does not know why or how and shrinks from this dangerous mission. The commandment to conquer the Midian Empire as one man seems all but impossible. But Gideon’s confidence grows as God guides his every step until he stands fearless and faithfully fulfills his destiny as, “A mighty man of valor.” The fierce warriors, burning towers and devastated cities contained in Gideon’s Journey, are but silver threads that weave into a sweeping tapestry of ancient intrigue. Running through and stitching together the entire saga is The Lord of the Covenant, or The Baal-Berith, also known as Gideon’s mysterious Ephod of Gold.

old testament revelations Gideon cover“I wrote this book,” Ganci stated, “as one day I was reading the Bible, and it was my fifth pass from cover to cover. I had just reached Judges Six when a phrase leaped off the page – And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them ‘the waters unto Bethbarah’ and Jordan.”

“I started digging down and found it meant the shallow waters and the only fording place of the entire Jordan River. It was in effect a military dispatch – directing the army of Ephriam to cut off the desperate flight of the remaining Midian camel cavalry. Gideon would drive the enemy like hounds to the hunter. A long-held mystery started, to unravel, and with that, I was off to the races.”

‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, “Joseph Ganci’s prose is arresting, peppered with wonderful imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The themes are masterfully created, and they are woven into the story in a way that allows the reader to enjoy both the inspiration the story offers and the accompanying action. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and the dynamics of life within the community of God’s chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories that are laced with intense action.” Other reviewers have used phrases such as “riveting,” “amazing” “deftly crafted” and “highly recommended.”

Hurricane Harvey Fundraising Efforts – Texas Resident Joseph Ganci, Author Of ‘Gideon: The Sound and The Glory,’ Makes New Spiritual Book Available For Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Ganci, a Houston area resident, experienced the effect of the devastating hurricane firsthand and hopes to help by donating a portion of proceeds to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. He encourages others to do the same.

Hurricane Harvey stuck Texas in August of 2017. It was one of the most destructive hurricanes to ever hit the US, displacing over 30,000 people and causing billions of dollars in damage. The storm made landfall as a category 4 near Rockport, Texas, and produced 40-60 inches of rainfall as it moved through the Texas/Louisiana area. The damage was catastrophic, the economic effects are staggering, and the rebuilding and restoration efforts will take many years.

In response to the horrific damage, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Judge Ed Emmett established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The fund accepts tax-deductible donations for victims affected by the floods. The fund is housed at the Greater Houston Community Foundation, at 501(c)(3) public charity.

Houston area resident and author Joseph Ganci has pledged to donate 90% of book proceeds from the sale of ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund from mid-October 2017 to Easter, 2018. He hopes that many others will join him by doing the same.

“While this may seem by some to be a small effort on the surface,” Ganci stated, “the power is in the numbers. If everyone selling a product or service was to donate even a tiny percentage of their ongoing profits to this fund, the compound effect of those donations, for basic needs, temporary housing, restoration or emergency assistance, could make a real difference to everyone affected by this tragedy. We will be buying these products and services anyway, so why not make them really count for something more?”

“During the hurricane, the rain was relentless, and it was reminiscent of the typhoon season during my Vietnam combat experience. The powerful showers exploded in blinding wind-whipped sheets of fury. The rising waters came within eight feet of my ever sinking threshold door. All alone, I knelt and prayed mightily to the Lord for relief from the constant downpour. I placed my fate into His capable hands and retired to my bedchamber. I had half expected to wake up and be entirely engulfed by the rising tide. I awoke to find that my floor remained high and dry and that the flood waters had reversed its course back to the ocean. The view from my front gate was a temporary lakefront property, and that I stood upon the rock of salvation. Praise be ‘The Name’ of the Lord.

“Many were not as fortunate; my heart goes out to them. For some will be struggling for years to come – trying desperately to get their life back to normal.”

old testament revelations Gideon coverFrom ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’: Another bolt of lightning darkened the sky. The sun had lost its face. Missiles of rain exploded in the dust, and the heavens dropped, weighed down by the burst of fast-moving clouds. The last of the western sky had blackened, constantly lit by cascades of brilliant-white lightning flashes. The rearmost cohort of the last one hundred chariots had already filled the Kishon Wadi when a sudden blast of wind heralded the uproar from the surge of rushing waters. Sisera’s fleet of iron chariots, his anxious hosts of infantrymen, and his archers were all caught in the eddy of a rising tide. Horse hooves broke, struggling for traction in a vain attempt to climb the slippery embankment. They were all swept away, abandoned to their grisly fate, washed away in the fast-moving rapids.

In ‘Gideon,’ Ganci pierces the veil with a penetrating vision of long-held Bible mysteries that are far and away daring and unusual. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principals. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

Modern Day Revelations Long Hidden In The Bible Revealed In Striking Detail And Published By Award-Winning Author Joseph Ganci in ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory’

Modern day revelations revealed in Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Sugar Land Texas. Jan 30, 2018] It is rare to discover any new revelations from the Bible in our fast-paced modern-age. It is rarer still to uncover facts that change a storyline or reframe generally accepted interpretations of events. Joseph Ganci, award-winning author of ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory’ has managed to do both.

“Diligent research and divine reasoning lead to many previously undiscovered Bible mysteries,” Ganci stated. “I invite anyone, anywhere, either scholar or novice to voice any and all alternative interpretations or conclusions based on enduring spiritual truths founded on scripture.”

“My last editor (a 16th generation Rabbi) said he read Judges 4-9 and First Samuel then he read my novel and then went back and studied the same passages again, and told me of his experience ‘I finally understand  the stories like never before.’  I would challenge you to do the same.”

* Most have agreed that it is impossible to accurately define the precise nature of God until now it has remained an elusive mystery. In ‘Gideon: The Sound and The Glory,’ covering three chapters and precisely one hundred verses attempts to unravel this challenge. Gideon takes his three hundred men at midnight and attacks a strength of one hundred and thirty-two thousand Midianites. He divides his three hundred into three separate companies, each consisting of one hundred warriors. This division represents The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost acting as one man in perfect harmony and synchronization. The angel of Ophrah blessed Gideon, And the Lord said unto him, “Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.” “I believe this to be the true nature of God.” Ganci concluded.

* Many believe that Gideon’s determination to slay the Midian kings was only to destroy the Midian Empire. But, he was also driven by his overpowering need to balance the scales of justice. Gideon’s brother’s blood called out from the dust. A smoldering blood feud erupted for their murders by the very same kings now in Gideon’s custody, forty years before at the battle of Mount Tabor.

* It has always been misunderstood why Gideon had sent this message – And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.” The Bethbarah is the shallow waters and the only fording place of the entire Jordan River. Gideon would be pursuing the remnants of the Midian camel cavalry south, and he believed into the waiting arms of the army of Ephraim He was driving the enemy like a hound to the hunter.

* Until now the name of Drumah, Gideon’s concubine, and his only one true love has been lost to the ages she was spoken only by Josephus the ancient historian. Ahimelech, was their love child, half Israel, and half Canaanite and he becomes the first, but, illegitimate king of Israel, and the king of Canaan at the same time. Abimelech conspired with his Canaanite cousins to kill his seventy half-brothers that represented a congress of judges and gain the coveted crown of king denied to him by his father, Gideon.

* It has never been recognized before that Gideon is a likeness of the coming of the Messiah as a spiritual warrior, as in the days of Midian, prophesied by Isaiah.

* Before now the description of Gideon, his son Jether, and his three hundred starving men and how they conquered an enemy of fifteen thousand on a secure plateau with the aid of fog and fire and with the power of God. The battle concluded before the sun came up.

* More modern-day revelations to be found in ‘Gideon’ include

* The first Trojan horse like scenario found in the Bible with general Barak and the Jabin king of Canaan.

The primary battle of Ephraim and the Midianites in the Jezreel Valley. Hidden for three millennia

New Spiritual Book Release, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory,’ By Author Joseph Ganci

New Spiritual Book Release, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory,’ Illuminates Epic Biblical Stories With Never Before Discovered Details

In this innovative debut, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Wilmington, NC, August 9,  2017] Author Joseph Ganci’s new book has been called “masterfully created” and “riveting.” Can a book based on the Bible warrant such high praise? In this case, yes, as Ganci deftly turns well known Biblical tales into a book filled with riveting deeds and powerful spiritual themes.

There are many instances of epic stories from the Bible hitting the big screen, among them “The Passion of the Christ,” directed by Mel Gibson, starring Jim Caviezel and “Noah,” starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly. Ganci’s work could rank among them easily, as the epic saga he presents is both inspirational, and action packed, providing readers with startling details never revealed before.

Ganci paints a penetrating vision of long held Bible mysteries that are far and away daring and unusual.

Running through and stitching together the entire saga is The Lord of the Covenant, or The Baal-Berith, also known as Gideon’s mysterious Ephod of Gold.

“Why did I write about an obscure bible character?” Ganci stated. “It turns out that everyone knows the name Gideon, but few if any, know his far-reaching story? I was at the conclusion of Gideon’s very short story, of exactly seven pages, and one hundred verses. When an undiscovered mystery and an unfamiliar phrase leaped off the page.”

‘Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.’

And he said, “They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the Lord liveth if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.”

“The battle of Mount Tabor? Judges: Four and Five with its host of delicious and unforgettable characters. Gideon’s brothers were murdered by the Midian kings at that battle. A battle that had concluded forty years before the life of Gideon. An obscure mystery came to life. A blood feud, and the one word, ‘Tabor’ that inspired the first seven chapters of my revelatory novel.”

‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, “Joseph Ganci’s prose is arresting, peppered with wonderful imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. When I entered into the Holy of Holies, I was met with the breathtaking vision of the Ark of the Covenant. It was richly aglow and seemed to have a light of its own with a skin of highly polished gold. The contents contained therein are two weighty stone tablets covered in the holy commandments deeply inscribed by the mighty finger of God. These are divine instructions imparted to Moses on Mount Sinai. Sinai means: Bush in the clay desert—the place of enmity. The commandments remain our beacon and our light so that we might navigate back into the presence of our loving Creator. Eli, if you abide strictly by their principles, you will not fail or falter in this life’s uncertain perils. A bowl of fresh ‘manna,’ or ‘what is it?’ also known as The corn of heaven, with the texture and taste of coriander: warm, nutty, spicy, and sweet orange-flavored. The manna not only fills the belly but it also guards against illness and plague. Remember Eli—it was only one days’ helping that was the required allotment. Hoarding was discouraged by worm and by rot. On the eve of the Shabbat, a double portion remained delicious. And this, Eli, is a reminder that God’s word is fresh and alive, and to be feasted upon daily—and twice again on a holy day. This is an old testament rule that remains fresh and alive.

Ark of the Covenant revealed

‘And God created the rod of Aaron; also enclosed in the Ark; And He did so in the twilight of the sixth day of Creation. The scepter is representing the power of the priesthood, and an everlasting conduit to God Almighty. Aaron’s rod put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds—an acknowledgment that the house of Levi were the keepers of the eternal priesthood. From the Old Testament to the modern eyes.

Eli, this is the very same priesthood we are commanded to honor. And please ponder that the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven. Eli, sear into your memory that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled, only upon the principles of righteousness and with an eye single to the glory of Jehovah. ‘Another of the essential elements found on the ledge in the holy place, a vial of anointing-oil, made of flowing myrrh, sweet smelling cinnamon, fragrant cane, and olive oil—for a sweet savor to set apart the things God holds most sacred. And also be aware, young Eli, of the urn containing the sacred ashes of the red heifer next to the brimming pitcher of living waters. When mixed they create a barrier between the living and the corpse; between holy and unclean, righteousness and sin. It is a likeness of the coming judgment of the quick and the dead. Bathe your hands in the mixture before touching the Ark. Ground yourself in this ritual—or you will fall down dead.” Phinehas’ eyes brightened, and his aged burden seemed lightened as he brought the knowledge of God back to his remembrance. Taking a deep breath and renewing his vigor he continued, “There are two sentinels that protect the Judgment seat. The holy Sentries patiently sit on the lid of the Ark. Their golden wings are barely separated, and they are forever facing each other for a reminder that none can approach or ever pass through the narrow way without their permission. They are Jachin, who defends the right, and whose name means: ‘He will establish’—and Boaz, who guards the left, and whose name means: ‘Quickness.’ And before you are allowed to approach the Judgment seat where God ruleth and reigneth forever, your righteousness will be ‘quickly established’ before you are granted access. I sprinkled the perfectly prepared incense onto the coals, and the room exploded in a thick cloud of ghostly smoke, that instantly invaded every seam and stitch in the sanctuary. My sight could not penetrate the mist even to the length of an inch, and I struggled and strained to regain the smallest amount of vision. Then in the haze in the vicinity of the Judgment Seat, I perceived a thickening cloud where a faint outline appeared—a barely discernible silhouette. The image was whiter than its surroundings. A head and shoulders were supposed through the haze. There were shoulder-length curls as thick as a sheep’s winter coat. I stared into the emptiness in the direction of the image for as long as I dared, and as of yet, there were no facial features. Then suddenly two eyes burst open; they were burning orange and had a look of something hotter than fire. My heart stopped, and my breath caught in my throat. I had to look away. I felt that by lingering a moment longer, I would have crumbled into dust. Afraid and confused, I scrambled to find the pass-through back into the Holy Place. The old testament was originally established by word of mouth, so understandings become clouded in time and with the retelling.

Jesus, The Opening Page for The Christian Book Era.

Jesus, The Opening Page for The Christian Book Era

The one single event that is the foundation of all Christian book understandings. The exact circumstance and moment of Jesus’s Crucifixion and its consequence for all of mankind.

Rumor Saturday

The Passover by ancient Christian book tradition remained celebrated on the fourteenth day of the month. At that time, the crucifixion of Jesus would have occurred on Friday the thirteenth.  According to the law of Moses-“you could not have someone killed on the Passover.” This sacrilegious circumstance made it essential to the Sanhedrin who were the governing religious body of the Jews. This pious assembly needed to ensure that Jesus was dead, taken down and buried before eventide. The start of the Passover feast was a high holy day commemorating the passing over of the destroying angel and Israel’s freedom from bondage.

Caiaphas, the presiding high priest, insisted on having Jesus’s body removed speedily and heavily guarded at the tomb. This request was perplexing to Pontius Pilot, the military prefect for all of Judea. This because the Sanhedrin had orchestrated Jesus’s death sentence in the first place. These Pharisees had employed subtle and calculated schemes to end the reign of this alleged Nazarene troublemaker.

Caiaphas then explained that if Jesus’s zealot followers scurried away from his lifeless body and thus fulfilled his prophecy of achieving his personal resurrection,-then Jesus could very well be viewed as a martyred Messiah. He then he would be even more trouble dead than if he had remained alive and thus crucified in the house of his friends and therefore confirming the words of the prophets.

Pilot pondered,-“ Why and how had he that had no sin, who was innocent, and without guile on his lips cause so much turmoil in his desert outpost garrison?”

The Romans did not take convicted criminals down from the heights of wooden crosses after their long and lingering killings. They were left up and rotted in a festering feast for flies, crows, and ravenous Ravens. Crucifixion was a harsh warning to all passersby. It was a stern reminder of what to expect for committing high crimes or daring to challenge the supremacy of the Roman Empire.

The Nazarene suffered a merciless spectacle witnessed by the scourging of scorpions. The weight of the world was then placed on his shoulders and this the very tree of his execution. Sharp gore encrusted spikes were hastily employed to make an exceptional point of torment for this persecuted Rabbi. Nails punctured the soft skin of open palms. With the fear of tarring flesh nails pierced the sure place between the strong bones of the wrists to support the weight of his ripped and quivering innocence. A small standing plate was mounted below the souls of blistered feet to help support a prolonged and agonizing end. A rude placard was hastily scribbled mocking his title, ‘king of the Jews.’ hung prominently just over his crown of thorns in words that could not be mistaken by any and all present.

Agony hung in the air thick and unyielding until the ninth hour when he was heard to say in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachina,” that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? The torment only known to the souls in Hell was the very depth of his suffering. Going below all things, he could now rise above all things and now knowing all things said,” Father, into thy hands, I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

The spear of Longinus

The sticking misgivings of the rigid Pharisees observed the letter of the law giving thrust to the spear of Longinus. The spike was used to confirm Jesus’s death by a sharp stab to the soft flesh just below the rib cage and in line with the underbelly.  Water and blood gushed out from the gaping wound proving that his heart had stopped pumping and that the last of his life-giving blood had all been used up. The need to break legs to speed up the killing process before the rapidly approaching sunset was no longer necessary. Grave’s had yawned opened, and the long dead once again walked amongst the living. The temple veil was rent in twain as it was no longer necessary. The separation was now bridged, The Christan book and the heavens were again opened in the meridian of times.

According to the Christian bible, the three requirements for the paschal lamb were that it had to be without spot or blemish and that no bones were found to be either splintered or broken.

The name of the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is Rumor Saturday because there were rumors of trickery, rumors of Egyptian black magic, and rumors that Jesus’s followers had fooled  Jerusalem with an elaborate conspiracy.

Everyone waited to witness if the dutifully guarded body would disappear and then reemerge alive, unharmed, and perfect as promised. It was the time of wagging tongues and gossip mongers. Was this lowly Nazarene Carpenter truly the Holy Messiah foretold by Isaiah?

For the natural man is an enemy to God and has been since the fall of Adam. The winter of doubt only prolongs the chill of separation from the tender mercies of an all-loving heavenly Father.  Spring does come with the promise of renewal and the resurrection. By Summertime, the glow of sunlight fans the warm breeze of reconciliation. Fishers cast their nets to gather in the faithful and cotton is spun to make spotless white the garments of the penitent. The Christian era had begun.

Revelations, The Fine Dust of Enlightenment

Revelations, The Fine Dust of Enlightenment

In the beginning. The following is a platform of understanding. Going forward, explaining the landscape, the time period,  and the varied unique characters that inhabit a lesser known and less appreciated parts of the old testament. Heroes and villains put on an emotional skin.  The dust of the ages come’s alive, with flesh, bone, and blood. Untold mysteries unfold that had remained hidden in plain sight for three millenniums.

Everything in this book is good, except for the things that are a knot, and the knots are not so tight. If you can hang in there
long enough, you will undoubtedly enjoy the flight.

To my sweet granddaughter and fifth-grade proofreader Claire Wellborn, violinist, and philosopher extraordinaire.

I believe in God as I believe in the sun, not because I can see the sun but because I can see everything because of the sun. And so, to his son the holy Messiah, the prince of peace, wonderful, counselor, the only begotten of the Father, my savior, my redeemer and my

Moses flew away, for his work was done upon the earth, and the full mantle of “prophet” fell on the broad shoulders of Joshua, who had chiseled the laws of God into stone, given to all of the people of Israel. The people of Israel were now on the outskirts of Canaan, just beyond the River Jordan in the plains of Moab. They were within sight of the Promised Land, approaching the border of the land God promised to Abraham and his descendants. To assert their spiritual legacy through revelations would not be an easy undertaking. They would have to proceed by faith and rely solely on the strong hand and outstretched arm of God. The land of milk and honey was peopled by mixed and hostile populations who were violently opposed to yielding a cubit of ancestral lands—they would not go without a struggle. Canaan controlled the fertile valleys and the coastline with its unfriendly strongholds of walled cities. The high valleys were the domain of the Amorites. The Hivites, (Neo) Hittites, Jebusites, and Perizzites peopled the villages, towns, and hamlets of the central lowlands. This was Israel’s time of conquest and settlement, often by force of arms. Occasionally, an attempt was made to infiltrate peaceably. The dawning of the Age of Iron created tools and skills in the form of the Kenite heavy metal wagons of war. Superior weapons were forged to drive out the rapidly multiplying immigrants before they could lay claim to all the land of Canaan.
The three chapters, Six through Eight, of the Book of Judges, consist of exactly one hundred verses revelations that speak of the adventures of Gideon. He is an unsung hero who has been hidden in plain sight for three thousand years. The account starts with the Battle of Tabor in Judges Four, where the sons of Gideon’s mother—or Gideon’s brothers—are murdered by two princes, who were now the twin kings of the Midianite horde. The slaughter of brothers had planted the seed of a blood feud in a collision of wills. This was the dry kindling that took the spark of Gideon’s confidence and ignited in him a firestorm of resolve, resulting in the toppling of kings, gods, and generals and in the revelations of the finding of perfect love. Three ferocious battles conclude in the wake of two ruined cities. The determined pursuit of their enemies by Gideon and his men is a testament to their faith, after being refused the bread of life by both Succoth and Penuel. All this was for the redemption of Israel by the hand of God in the appearance of the least likely of heroes. Gideon was a man who was lost in the forest of fear and doubt, a weak thing of this world, who through revelations became God’s instrument of vengeance and determination, a mighty man of valor. Gideon(means hewer) a simple woodsman, one who chops and hacks and makes a path through trees. Abimelech was Gideon’s willful love child who grows to be a vengeful predator and personally kills his seventy brothers, a congress of judges, to claim to be the first king of Israel.Abimelech returns Israel to the worship of Baal, and the Ephod of Gold becomes his cornerstone. He is short-lived when his head is crushed in another attempted holocaust of fire. The Ephod of Gold is resurrected by Eli, the young priest who miraculously finds a home for it, first in Shiloh, and then in the house of God in Nob, where the shepherd boy-king David takes possession of the accursed artifact. Your eyes will be opened, and deeper understandings will be shouldered, for any and all who read these five episodes will have no doubt that there is a God in Israel.
