Powerful Leaders Who Compromise Their Integrity Through Attacks On Women Is Nothing New

Yet again Donald Trump has been accused of making unwanted advances. According to a recent article on the Intelligencer website, the latest accusation by E. Jean Carroll brings the number of accusers to 16. While many of us see this as a modern-day problem, these types of situations have taken place throughout recorded history – many in the Bible itself. The Biblical versions often read as mere accountings of sordid historical events. Award-winning author Joseph Ganci however, through both meticulous research and modern-day revelation, brings some of these stories to life through historical fiction in ways that are engaging and compelling.

Ganci has a finely tuned flair for the dramatic. He uses this to turn the little-known account of Gideon into a Bible-based novel that reads like a modern-day major motion picture. He shows us that Biblical stories can be more than just dusty history – they can be keenly entertaining. He brings the Bible to life and rekindles the fires of ancient passions. He offers practical application of revelatory insights of faith, visions, and spiritual determination for modern-day living. He does it all in ways that will entertain, motivate and enlighten. He recently had this to say:

“She’s not my type.” said Donald Trump, and so too said David, king of Israel also claimed his innocence. ‘Indeed, not a married woman for the penalty of adultery is stoning, and it makes no difference either beggar or prince; it is a worldly as well as a spiritual death.’ David even goes so far as to collude with his nephew, his chief captain Joab to orchestrate the ultimate penalty on an innocent man Uriah, his loyal soldier to cover his evil intentions and shield him from any consequences.”

“Did David, already married to six wives, take Bathsheba another man’s wife to his bed because he is king and you cannot deny the king anything, even adultery. Did Bathsheba entice, seduce, and arouse David’s insatiable ardor knowing full well his weakness for youthful and beautiful women? Was Bathsheba’s marriage to a Hittite a grave mistake? Did she remain an unfulfilled and then an unfaithful woman from a powerful and wealthy family? Was David seduced, or was it by David’s command that keeps us guessing as to the actual events over these past three millennia? The Devil might be in the cracks and the crevices, but God is certainly in the details. The details in the timing and the location of the planned seduction lead me to only one conclusion that David, was a willing accomplice seduced by a woman’s wiles. But that is not an excuse even for a king or any man to compromise his integrity and blame his sexual attraction and then his brutish actions because of a woman’s alluring beauty, either hidden or breathtaking.”

Gideon coverHis eyes are straining against the deepening dark for one more fading glimpse of this mysterious vixen. The two women hoisted the flaming torches and disappeared behind closed doors leaving a void where only moments before David’s exotic fantasy was born.

David still reeling from the hot sweat of passion desperately inquired of all his household servants, saying, “A strange woman has suddenly appeared like a water nymph bathing on Ahithophel rooftop bath. Who is this bewitching creature?

Silence hung for only a moment when a servant girl both bashful and private uttered, “From your description and location sire it has to be Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam and so too the granddaughter of Ahithophel. Sire, she is also the recent wife of Uriah the converted Hittite. I know this my lord from the gossip of chambermaids and kitchen servants. David, pondered, “Why is that I had never seen her before?” The servant girl anxious from her ongoing conversation with the king took a nervous breath and continued, “She lives with her husband Uriah in Captain Eliam’s former residence located in the old Benjamite quarter of the city.”

David dismissed all that were in attendance but two of his most loyal and trusted bodyguards, Ahava, and Saval. He commanded, “I need you two to go and deliver a message to the lady Bathsheba who is at Ahithophel’s adjacent mansion with haste and discretion” David hurriedly set to work on a royal request with heartfelt words of love, desire, and ravenous passion. David procured a new clay writing tablet from his open cabinet.

Bathsheba, comely daughter of Eliam

By chance, design, or by divine coincidence, my eyes have beheld the fullness of your loveliness. My breath catches, and my aching heart is filled and ready to burst at the mere thought of your beauty. Under every violation, the pursuit of you, my most ardent and longing desire, and by everything holy, I should not be coveting another man’s wife.

So, dear lady, please forgive me for you have captured my soul, will, and emotions. I find myself adrift in a whirlwind of love since the moment that my eyes beheld the very first sight of you. I beg and beseech you for your presence if nothing but to talk so that I can hear the pleasant-sounding of your voice and feel the comfort from your closeness.

If this earnest plea does not sway you, then I command you, as your king and sovereign, for I will not take no for an answer.

David, son of Jesse.

Ganci takes a ground-breaking and revelatory path in his quest to bring the awe-inspiring story of Gideon to life and ultimately to film. He believes that connecting facts are far more enchanting than loosely fitting fantasies. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

* The rock-solid cornerstone is historical biblical geography.

* The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.

* The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Ganci fills in the blanks with rock-solid research and prophetic revelations. It is a style that has allowed him to create breakthrough approaches that are exciting and breathtaking while remaining within the limits of believable biblical teachings.

Mysteries long hidden in ancient shadows now leap to life blazing unto the pages of revelation. Details that link passages, peoples, and places are the most exciting part of the storytelling process. Details give possibilities a firm foundation as bones give form and strength to living flesh. Details long since lost or misunderstood, now ring true, giving texture, and breath, to long-forgotten gems of perception resurrected from ruins, dust, and ashes.

Ganci believes that Old Testament revelations are the Word of God. At the same time, that many needful details remained buried until the information age of discovery made them obvious and visible to the naked eye. These insights create a middle ground of understanding. As a dedicated and highly motivated researcher, he proposes there are many undiscovered nuggets of spiritual gold in the original manuscripts. He shines a new light on ancient texts and removes the black or white argument of the all-or-nothing question of modern-day revelations. He is adept at untangling the philosophical and theological human-made knots. And he gives us an opportunity to take a fresh look at what some consider to be foregone conclusions.

Readers of ‘Gideon The Sound and the Glory’ will learn about the Jewish Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the mysterious Golden Ephod, how, and why, David found himself at his battle with Goliath, and much, much more. This work illuminates the dark corners of scripture while engaging readers in a gripping narrative.

Bathsheba’s beguiling bath of intrigue

David Sees Bathsheba Bathing

Bathsheba bathingAs you know, your grandfather Ahithophel’s mansion is directly adjacent and slightly below the king’s rooftop garden. I have observed David often engaged in his regular and predictable evening ritual. His maidservant known for her gossip when she is in her cups confided in me that David rests most days and arises just before sundown, the time of poets and philosophers. He goes up directly to his rooftop garden alone most every day when he is in attendance for quiet prayer and meditation. David is known for staying up late and long into the night.

Bathsheba shook her head. What are you getting at Almah? Almah, with a wicked wink, laid out her plan of conspiracy and seduction. Ahithophel’s rooftop has a mikveh, the ceremonial bath that can collect rainwater and purify you from your uncleanness once your regular issue of blood had ended and then judged sanctified by the law, but not until after sundown. At the very same time, I might add, that David will be on his rooftop retreat and in full view of your natural beauty, just like God made you.” “I am both puzzled and enchanted by your outrageous proposal,” Bathsheba curiously continued, “But he already has six wives, does he not?” “Yes, my lady, he does, but he also has a keen eye for beautiful women. David is brilliant; he is handsome as he is virile and a renowned poet-musician. There is no prohibition in the Torah for the number of wives a man might acquire. It is good to consider that David is king, and no one says no to the king for such would be treason.”

“Bathsheba lamented, “There is a flaw in your cunning plan for I have not had an issue of blood since the dreadful end to my pregnancy. I believe God has sealed up my womb and has taken away my creative spark.” Almah, would not be dissuaded, and said as much, “Your flow will begin again, I know it, and your health renewed. A new life will be your reward for God blesses his faithful. When your issue of blood ceases the ritual mikveh bath filled to the brim with rainwater will purify your unclean period. Then and only then we will be ready to entice the unsuspecting prince on the roof of your grandfather’s mansion.”

Just as Almah had predicted, Bathsheba’s natural monthly cycle reappeared with cramping, fatigue, and eruptions of anger. Almah was delighted that her prophetic insight had so rapidly come to pass. Almah insisted, “It is time to prepare, we will go to the mansion and help make ready for the mikveh bath. Your timing is crucial; you need to be exiting the tub just as David approaches the very edge of his overhead balcony. The sun still emitting enough light so that he can feast his eyes on your youthful nakedness, glistening wet, vivid, and striking.

Early afternoon found the two plotters setting off for the house of Ahithophel. “If we are well-prepared fate and luck will ensure our success.” Almah quipped. “Where is Uriah, your doting husband, will he not be curious as to your whereabouts?” Bathsheba shook her head, “No, not at all; he is on a training mission in the desert. There is some invasion or big battle about to take place. Uriah is very closed-mouthed about such happenings.”

The two women briskly approached the mansion they entered freely being recognized as family.” Where is my grandfather, Bathsheba inquired?” The head servant replied, “The master is away in a foreign land, an ambassador promoting the goodwill of the king. I believe he is on a trading mission to Egypt” The two women smiled at each other for the timing of Ahithophel’s absence could not have made things easier.

Almah, addressed the head servant, “We need to prepare the mikveh for my lady’s purification ritual. Gather up the rainwater from the rooftop cisterns. Heat the water at the downstairs hearth and fill the tub until it is steaming hot. Most importantly make sure everything stands ready so that my lady can enter into the water shortly before sundown and while the light from the dying sun still lingers on the horizon.”

All the needful things were in their proper place. The sun and the stage were both ready to set.

Bathsheba disrobed her stunning figure brightening the dimming light. She slipped into the steamy brazen tub moaning with delight — the warm water began caressing her tingling flesh and heightening her senses.

Almah kept a watchful eye until she spotted David’s long shadow approaching from his upper gallery. Almah hissed, “He comes.” At the perfect moment, Bathsheba stood up dripping wet, water droplets glistening in the freshly lit torchlight. She refrained from looking up as she felt hungry eyes drinking in her primal beauty.

Almah approached with a warm towel, slowly circling the tub squeezing out every desire filled second. Almah began by drying her mistress, shrewdly patting Bathsheba’s shapely legs, rounded buttocks, and dabbing gently at upturned breasts.

David was enchanted, a tempest of lust washed over him with every sensual gesture. His eyes are straining against the deepening dark for one more fading glimpse of this mysterious vixen.

Author Joseph Ganci Announces New Spiritual Book Detailing Epic Adventures, ‘Gideon: The Sound and The Glory’

In this innovative debut, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action.

Author Joseph Ganci has announced the release of his spiritually inspiring book, ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory.’

Ganci pierces the veil with a penetrating vision of long held Bible mysteries that are far and away daring and unusual. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

The rock-solid cornerstone is biblical history and geography.
The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.
The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Unsung heroes and murderous villains, hidden forever in ancient shadows, now leap to life – blazing onto the pages of revelation. Gideon, a lowly woodcutter, is blessed by an angel to be the savior of all Israel. He does not know why or how and shrinks from this dangerous mission. The commandment to conquer the Midian Empire as one man seems all but impossible. But Gideon’s confidence grows as God guides his every step until he stands fearless and faithfully fulfills his destiny as, “A mighty man of valor.” The fierce warriors, burning towers and devastated cities contained in Gideon’s Journey, are but silver threads that weave into a sweeping tapestry of ancient intrigue. Running through and stitching together the entire saga is The Lord of the Covenant, or The Baal-Berith, also known as Gideon’s mysterious Ephod of Gold.

old testament revelations Gideon cover“I wrote this book,” Ganci stated, “as one day I was reading the Bible, and it was my fifth pass from cover to cover. I had just reached Judges Six when a phrase leaped off the page – And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them ‘the waters unto Bethbarah’ and Jordan.”

“I started digging down and found it meant the shallow waters and the only fording place of the entire Jordan River. It was in effect a military dispatch – directing the army of Ephriam to cut off the desperate flight of the remaining Midian camel cavalry. Gideon would drive the enemy like hounds to the hunter. A long-held mystery started, to unravel, and with that, I was off to the races.”

‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, “Joseph Ganci’s prose is arresting, peppered with wonderful imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. Hurricane Harvey Fundraising Efforts – Texas Resident Joseph Ganci, Author Of ‘Gideon: The Sound and The Glory,’ Makes New Spiritual Book Available For Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Ganci, a Houston area resident, experienced the effect of the devastating hurricane firsthand and hopes to help by donating a portion of proceeds to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. He encourages others to do the same.

Hurricane Harvey stuck Texas in August of 2017. It was one of the most destructive hurricanes to ever hit the US, displacing over 30,000 people and causing billions of dollars in damage. The storm made landfall as a category 4 near Rockport, Texas, and produced 40-60 inches of rainfall as it moved through the Texas/Louisiana area. The damage was catastrophic, the economic effects are staggering, and the rebuilding and restoration efforts will take many years.

In response to the horrific damage, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Judge Ed Emmett established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. The fund accepts tax-deductible donations for victims affected by the floods. The fund is housed at the Greater Houston Community Foundation, at 501(c)(3) public charity.

Houston area resident and author Joseph Ganci has pledged to donate 90% of book proceeds from the sale of ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund from mid-October 2017 to Easter, 2018. He hopes that many others will join him by doing the same.

“While this may seem by some to be a small effort on the surface,” Ganci stated, “the power is in the numbers. If everyone selling a product or service was to donate even a tiny percentage of their ongoing profits to this fund, the compound effect of those donations, for basic needs, temporary housing, restoration or emergency assistance, could make a real difference to everyone affected by this tragedy. We will be buying these products and services anyway, so why not make them really count for something more?”

“During the hurricane, the rain was relentless, and it was reminiscent of the typhoon season during my Vietnam combat experience. The powerful showers exploded in blinding wind-whipped sheets of fury. The rising waters came within eight feet of my ever sinking threshold door. All alone, I knelt and prayed mightily to the Lord for relief from the constant downpour. I placed my fate into His capable hands and retired to my bedchamber. I had half expected to wake up and be entirely engulfed by the rising tide. I awoke to find that my floor remained high and dry and that the flood waters had reversed its course back to the ocean. The view from my front gate was a temporary lakefront property, and that I stood upon the rock of salvation. Praise be ‘The Name’ of the Lord.

“Many were not as fortunate; my heart goes out to them. For some will be struggling for years to come – trying desperately to get their life back to normal.”

old testament revelations Gideon coverFrom ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’: Another bolt of lightning darkened the sky. The sun had lost its face. Missiles of rain exploded in the dust, and the heavens dropped, weighed down by the burst of fast-moving clouds. The last of the western sky had blackened, constantly lit by cascades of brilliant-white lightning flashes. The rearmost cohort of the last one hundred chariots had already filled the Kishon Wadi when a sudden blast of wind heralded the uproar from the surge of rushing waters. Sisera’s fleet of iron chariots, his anxious hosts of infantrymen, and his archers were all caught in the eddy of a rising tide. Horse hooves broke, struggling for traction in a vain attempt to climb the slippery embankment. They were all swept away, abandoned to their grisly fate, washed away in the fast-moving rapids.

Charlottesville And The Jewish Struggle with Hatred, Prejudice, And Violence – Joseph Ganci, Author Of New Spiritual Book, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory,’ Issues Statement

Charlottesville And The Jewish Struggle with Hatred, Prejudice, And Violence – Joseph Ganci, Author Of New Spiritual Book, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory,’ Issues Statement

Charlottesville served as a demonstration – of two very different kinds. First, there was a show by Nazis. In America. In 2017. Could we ever unsee those wild-eyed demonstrators, marching through town with the chants of “Jews will never replace us” and “Seig Heil” echoing through the streets? Certainly, Hitler would have been proud.

It was also a smack-in-the-face, an evident demonstration that things have not really changed in thousands of years. The struggles of the Jewish people did not begin, nor did they end with Nazi Germany. It began many centuries before. It continues to this day.

Charlottesville showed us that we, even in the year 2017, are still whistling in the graveyard of unrealized human potential. Joseph Ganci, the author of ‘Gideon, The Sound, And The Glory,’ recently issued a statement that shows us very little social progress is evident in the last three thousand years.

“Israel, which today is represented by the last organized tribe,” Ganci stated. “Judah, or commonly known as the Jews. They have survived as a people over the course of four millennia. The Jewish community has been the mainstay of acceptance and tolerance, and a corner stone of the highest ideals of democratic virtues-especially in the realm of religious freedom of expression. The Jews were and are stalwart defenders of the civil rights movement. Why are we allowing our fellow citizens and veterans forced to suffer violence and hatred? If we do not stand up in such opposition are we all but giving a passive permission? Are we not in fact heaping upon them unwarranted fear and misgiving, for both them and their children? These are prevalent and unfortunate attitudes. We even have to look past the Holocaust, past Shakespeare, and to their very roots in ancient history. Israel is God’s chosen people, and the glory of God is intelligence. I believe that the divine spark of intellect is the Hebrew legacy. Knowledge is power, and so the Jews are feared, mistrusted, and mistreated – making the ignorant arrogant, and violently vicious. This attitude is always spearheaded by a cruel tyrant with a low self-esteem out to prove that he is all-powerful. In other words, we wrestle against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

“The king spiced his political courting with the enticement of glory and spoil, saying, ‘I predict a beneficial outcome of lasting victory to our joint venture. This campaign will ensure the complete domination of our common foe so that Israel as a military force will be no more. We will gain the free labor of slaves, the one essential component necessary for the expansion of our empire.’ The princes of Midian nodded in agreement, encouraging the Jabin to continue spinning his web of conspiracy. ‘We could make secure, once and for all, the fertile valley of Jezreel. With its plentiful bounty, we could supply many ranks of iron wagons, feeding their legions of swordsmen, spearmen, and archers. This strategic center-place of strength is like the hub of a wheel, the spokes of which extend out to the tribes in the north and those to the south. We could easily wreak havoc in all the unorganized Hebrew tribes and, once again, enslave them.’

“We will return them to the familiar misery of their slavery, and those who refuse the rod and the yoke will be readily put to the sword—man, woman, or child. This will surely put an end to their growth as a nation and will bring them back into line so that we can bend them to our will now – and for all-time.”

The result is that booklovers are transported into the very midst of ancient conflicts and come away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture, now living lessons filled with adventure that inspires wonder yet remain practical answering the challenges of everyday life.

Modern Day Revelations Long Hidden In The Bible Revealed In Striking Detail And Published By Award-Winning Author Joseph Ganci in ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory’

Modern day revelations revealed in Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Sugar Land Texas. Jan 30, 2018] It is rare to discover any new revelations from the Bible in our fast-paced modern-age. It is rarer still to uncover facts that change a storyline or reframe generally accepted interpretations of events. Joseph Ganci, award-winning author of ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory’ has managed to do both.

“Diligent research and divine reasoning lead to many previously undiscovered Bible mysteries,” Ganci stated. “I invite anyone, anywhere, either scholar or novice to voice any and all alternative interpretations or conclusions based on enduring spiritual truths founded on scripture.”

“My last editor (a 16th generation Rabbi) said he read Judges 4-9 and First Samuel then he read my novel and then went back and studied the same passages again, and told me of his experience ‘I finally understand  the stories like never before.’  I would challenge you to do the same.”

* Most have agreed that it is impossible to accurately define the precise nature of God until now it has remained an elusive mystery. In ‘Gideon: The Sound and The Glory,’ covering three chapters and precisely one hundred verses attempts to unravel this challenge. Gideon takes his three hundred men at midnight and attacks a strength of one hundred and thirty-two thousand Midianites. He divides his three hundred into three separate companies, each consisting of one hundred warriors. This division represents The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost acting as one man in perfect harmony and synchronization. The angel of Ophrah blessed Gideon, And the Lord said unto him, “Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.” “I believe this to be the true nature of God.” Ganci concluded.

* Many believe that Gideon’s determination to slay the Midian kings was only to destroy the Midian Empire. But, he was also driven by his overpowering need to balance the scales of justice. Gideon’s brother’s blood called out from the dust. A smoldering blood feud erupted for their murders by the very same kings now in Gideon’s custody, forty years before at the battle of Mount Tabor.

* It has always been misunderstood why Gideon had sent this message – And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.” The Bethbarah is the shallow waters and the only fording place of the entire Jordan River. Gideon would be pursuing the remnants of the Midian camel cavalry south, and he believed into the waiting arms of the army of Ephraim He was driving the enemy like a hound to the hunter.

* Until now the name of Drumah, Gideon’s concubine, and his only one true love has been lost to the ages she was spoken only by Josephus the ancient historian. Ahimelech, was their love child, half Israel, and half Canaanite and he becomes the first, but, illegitimate king of Israel, and the king of Canaan at the same time. Abimelech conspired with his Canaanite cousins to kill his seventy half-brothers that represented a congress of judges and gain the coveted crown of king denied to him by his father, Gideon.

* It has never been recognized before that Gideon is a likeness of the coming of the Messiah as a spiritual warrior, as in the days of Midian, prophesied by Isaiah.

* Before now the description of Gideon, his son Jether, and his three hundred starving men and how they conquered an enemy of fifteen thousand on a secure plateau with the aid of fog and fire and with the power of God. The battle concluded before the sun came up.

* More modern-day revelations to be found in ‘Gideon’ include

* The first Trojan horse like scenario found in the Bible with general Barak and the Jabin king of Canaan.

Crushing The Constitution. A legal Coup d’état

Crushing The Constitution – Nothing New Says Joseph Ganci, Award Winning Author Of New Spiritual Book ‘Gideon The Sound And The Glory’

In Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Wilmington, NC, January 10, 2018]  Since practically the beginning of recorded history we have heard tales of ruling bodies and political establishments that have been reformed or perhaps overthrown by new or opposing political philosophies. We are living in the very middle of one such movement today.

Trump and others within the Republican Party seem to be focused on tearing the “Obama Legacy” up by the roots; not just changing or reorganizing, but rather by annihilating and utterly negating anything having to do with Obama’s administration.

The result of these melodramatic attempts at reorganization is that governments, markets, institutions, businesses and the public at large have become fearful, frustrated, moody and mistrustful.

Today political change in the US is accomplished through Executive Orders and formal processes of law. There are checks and balances in the Democratic political system. New political philosophies are implemented in a somewhat orderly, lawful fashion. That was not always the case.

“Few people would believe the Bible relates stories that are the equal of any great modern-day political upheaval, but it certainly does,” Ganci stated.  There is nothing new under the sun. We have learned from sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose,  will immediately exercise abuse of power. Through any, and all despicable means to gain an irrational illusion of control over the affairs of free men.”

Gideon coverFrom ‘Gideon’s Glory’: A feast of red wine and the fatted calf of subtle diplomacy were prepared in a shrewd appeal for assistance in Abimelech’s quest for dominion. Abimelech gathered together his brethren in the house of his mother’s flesh and reminded them of the importance of blood, saying, “I need you to fill the ears of Shechem. Tell the citizens it is better for them that I rule. Having my rule will be particularly useful to you, my dear cousins, as you will, by all accounts, receive the greatest advantage of my generosity and bounty. Explain to them that I, Abimelech, will personally rule without malice and without the distractions born from the slow process of debate and consensus currently practiced by the council of seventy. I will dismiss with the edge of my blade the council of the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, who are hard-pressed to make the simplest decisions, always inclined to the benefit of Israel, never the cause of Canaan.”

Politicians And Leaders Who Overestimate Their Power

Politicians And Leaders Who Overestimate Their Power Is Nothing New Says Joseph Ganci, Author Of New Spiritual Book, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory’

In Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Houston, TX. Sept 28, 2017] America today is sharply divided into many fronts. Immigration and patriotism, everything from travel bans to sports teams refusing to stand for the National Anthem, are but two of the issues spawning screaming headlines in practically every newspaper, television outlet, radio program, and news website. When we add to these problems demonstrations of free speech that turn violent, the threat of a nuclear war nobody wants, climate change, healthcare and endless partisan bickering, we get a sharp and apparent picture of politicians who seem to have lost their grip on reality. Many appear to be completely out of touch with the voters who put them in office in the first place. All over America, citizens are organizing to resist leaders who seem obsessed with their power to divide, as opposed to bringing the country together. Joseph Ganci, author of ‘Gideon, The Sound And The Glory’ believes that this sad turn of events is but history repeating itself.

“We need only look at a timely quote by Joseph Smith Jr.,” Ganci stated. “Smith who is venerated as a prophet and seer by his people said, ‘We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion.’ That could be rephrased today to state, ‘As soon as they (Politicians) get a little authority, as they suppose, they will demonstrate, oppressive behavior – while embracing the illusion of control over the souls of free men.”

The illusion of control

unrighteous dominion over the souls of free men.

“Many people see the Scriptures as old news, somewhat out of touch with the world as it is today,” Ganci stated. “Nothing could be further from the truth. Those who wield political power have overestimated their own power since Biblical times. For instance, in ‘Gideon’ we find this story which, with a little tweaking, could have been ripped from today’s headlines:”

“I am both Canaanite and Israelite, and as the one remaining son of Gideon, I will be the first king of this land and see to equal justice for all.”

All the men of Shechem, the House of Milo, and all the hirelings growled a weary cheer, while Ophrah looked on, dreading to hear who, or what might be next on Abimelech’s evil agenda. Abimelech continued after a brief silence. He had been expecting their acclaim and approval but received nothing from all those who had known him and his family as heroes and as pillars of the Community. Feeling disappointed, he continued, “We will replant the grove my grandfather, Joash, owned—the place that was the center of our pleasure and leisure. We will return to the worship of Baalim, and connect back to the ancient roots of our Amorite heritage. We will prosper greatly and glut our natural desires. Our city will plead with Moloch for his favor when we pass our children through the fire.”

Jadzia, Jether’s wife, now one of the many stunned and grieving widows yelled out, “Who are you, to tell us to pass our children through the inferno?” “If you truly believe this, then YOU now would be a heap of charred bone and decrepit flesh, less than carrion, not fit for worms, Abimelech.”

Abimelech, red-faced with rage addressed his former sister in law; “I will dismiss your outburst of rebellion because of your sudden sorrow, but hear me now Jadzia, if one more word passes your lips you and your children will be the first to embrace the sacrificial blaze. Do not charge me, woman, or you will join this night’s blood-soaked holocaust.”

The hush had a weight for the lack of breath. Abimelech gamely returned to his speech making without the slightest twinge of conscience or regret.
