Power Politics, Donald Trump, And The Supreme Court Justice Confirmation Hearings Reflect Back To Old Testament Biblical Upheavals, Says Award-Winning Author Joseph Ganci

In ‘Gideon, The Sound, and the Glory,’ Ganci combines Old Testament revelations with modern day revelations, action, and adventure to provide audiences with a unique, emotionally charged experience.

Joseph Ganci, old testament revelationsThe sideshow atmosphere of modern-day political shenanigans and constant power struggles appeal to us for many reasons. They entice and captivate our sensual desires in the same manner as our favorite dramas, thrillers, and action / adventure movies. Why is this so? It is because both political chicanery and epic movies allow us to live vicariously through both hero and villain from a position of relative safety while skirting the fringes of reality on the other side of our internet connections.

These types of gripping human dramas have been playing out since Biblical times. While political dramas and action/adventure themes may not be our first thought when considering stories from the Old Testament, author Joseph Ganci has managed to turn the little-known account of Gideon into a Bible-based novel that reads like a modern-day major motion picture. He shows us that Biblical stories can be more than just dusty history – they can be keenly entertaining. He brings the Bible to life and rekindles the fires of ancient passions. He offers practical application of revelatory insights of faith, visions, and spiritual determination for modern-day living. He does it all in ways that will entertain, motivate and enlighten. His readers attest to his skill and his ability to do just that. The public reviews for ‘Gideon’ say it all:

“Joseph Gauci’s prose is arresting, peppered with wonderful imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The themes are masterfully created, and they are woven into the story in a way that allows the reader to enjoy both the inspiration the story offers and the accompanying action. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and the dynamics of life within the community of God’s chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories that are laced with intense action. I was hugely entertained by the writing and the plot. A real page-turner.”

“Joseph Ganci takes a story that is recounted through just a few select chapters in the Old Testament book of Judges and creates a beautiful, strikingly visual novelization. In this book, the author shows himself in as a researcher, a Biblical word-scholar, and a master narrator.”

“The tale itself has a great table to set. Mr. Ganci does this with style, and then lights the match so that the action (like a Harry Potter book) carries the reader through the entire second half.”

“Reading has always been a real escape for me. I remember back reading books that one could not put down until the end of the final chapter: “The Godfather,” Books by Dan Brown, The Harry Potter series and others. This book, Gideon, The Sound and the Glory, is one of those books that one can’t put down . . . I hope that this book is made into a movie soon.”

“The author, Joseph Ganci, a biblical scholar, visionary, prophetic interpreter and great storyteller . . . His book Gideon: The Sound and the Glory takes the reader on a poetic journey of exciting adventure, intrigue, romance, deceit, murder, honor, betrayal, prophesy and war. Would liken his book to episodes in a Star Wars movie.”

“I enjoyed the book very much. Joseph Ganci has brought to life an Old Testament story. What is only a couple of chapters the Book of Judges, becomes a novel of over 350 pages. The characters in the novel come to life with all the emotions, feelings, and anxieties of real-life beings. The pages are full of intrigue, romance, deceit, murder, honor, betrayal, prophecy, war; all the makings of a first-class epic thriller.”

Many more reviews are available at Amazon.

Ganci takes a ground-breaking and revelatory path in his quest to bring the awe-inspiring story of Gideon to life and ultimately to film. He believes that connecting facts are far more enchanting than loosely fitting fantasies. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

* The rock-solid cornerstone is historical biblical geography.

* The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.

* The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Ganci fills in the blanks with rock-solid research and prophetic revelations. It is a style that has allowed him to create breakthrough approaches that are exciting and breathtaking while remaining within the limits of believable biblical teachings.

Mysteries long hidden in ancient shadows now leap to life blazing unto the pages of revelation. Details that link passages, peoples, and places are the most exciting part of the storytelling process. Details give possibilities a firm foundation as bones give form and strength to living flesh. Details long since lost or misunderstood, now ring true, giving texture, and breath, to long-forgotten gems of perception resurrected from ruins, dust, and ashes.

Readers of ‘Gideon The Sound and the Glory’ will learn about the Jewish Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the mysterious Golden Ephod, how, and why, David found himself at his battle with Goliath, and much, much more. This work illuminates the dark corners of scripture while engaging readers in a gripping narrative.

Joseph Ganci was recently chosen as one of ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ in the 2017 Book Awards. ‘Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, “Joseph Gauci’s prose is arresting, peppered with fantastic imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and the dynamics of life within the community of God’s chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories laced with intense action.” Other reviewers have used phrases such as “riveting,” “amazing” “deftly crafted” and “highly recommended.”

Old Testament Revelation, Modern Day Revelation And Trump’s Power Struggles – Nothing New Under The Sun Says Award-Winning Author Joseph Ganci

In ‘Gideon, The Sound, and the Glory,’ Ganci combines Old Testament revelations with modern day revelations, action, and adventure to provide audiences with a unique, emotionally charged experience.

Joseph Ganci, old testament revelationsFor award-winning author Joseph Ganci, author of ‘Gideon, The Sound and the Glory,’ the political upheavals and power struggles we read in our headlines nearly every day are nothing new. “There is nothing new under the sun.” King Solomon. These only appear to be something new, as today all the conflicting and sordid political details are easily available to public opinion. In many ways, however, these modern-day political dramas play out familiar storylines that harken back to Biblical times. “We have learned by sad experience,” Ganci stated, “that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise forceful domination and embrace the illusion of control over the affairs of men.”

Ganci has a finely tuned flair for the dramatic. He uses this to turn the little-known account of Gideon into a Bible-based novel that reads like a modern-day major motion picture.

“So he took him (general Abner) aside from his own followers, as if he would speak with him in private, and brought him into a void (secluded) place of the gate, having himself nobody with him but his brother Abishai; then he drew his sword, and smote him in the groin; upon which Abner died by this treachery of general Joab, which, as he said himself, was in the way of punishment for his brother Asahel, whom Abner smote and slew as he was pursuing after him in the battle of Hebron, but as the truth was, out of his fear of losing his command of the army to Abner, and also his dignity with the king, and lest he should be deprived of those advantages, and out of the dread that Abner would replace him and obtain the first rank in David’s court.

“By these examples anyone may learn how many and how great instances of wickedness men will venture upon for the sake of getting money and authority, and that they may not fail of either of them; for as when they are desirous of obtaining the same, they acquire them by ten thousand evil practices; so when they are afraid of losing them, they get them confirmed to them by practices much worse than the former, as if no other calamity so terrible could befall them as the failure of acquiring so exalted an authority; and when they have acquired it, and by long custom found the sweetness of it, the losing it again: and since this last would be the heaviest of all afflictions they all of them contrive and venture upon the most difficult actions, out of the fear of losing the same. But let it suffice that I have made these short reflections upon that subject.” – Titus Flavius Josephus, first-century Romano-Jewish scholar, historian, and hagiographer.

Ganci takes a ground-breaking and revelatory path in his quest to bring the awe-inspiring story of Gideon to life and ultimately to film. He believes that connecting facts are far more enchanting than loosely fitting fantasies. Ganci believes that Old Testament revelations are the Word of God. At the same time, that many needful details remained buried until the information age of discovery made them obvious and visible to the naked eye. These insights create a middle ground of understanding. As a dedicated and highly motivated researcher, he proposes there are many undiscovered nuggets of spiritual gold in the original manuscripts. He shines a new light on ancient texts and removes the black or white argument of the all-or-nothing question of modern-day revelations. Award Winning Author And Keynote Speaker Joseph Ganci Uses Modern-Day Revelations Redefining Old Testament Revelations To Entertain, Motivate, And Enlighten

In Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, ‘Gideon The Sound and the Glory,’ book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

Joseph Ganci, old testament revelationsPeople dismiss the Church’s ancient teachings for many reasons. Some people believe that the Old Testament has little or no relevance in this fast-paced digital age. Others believe everything that could be said has been said. For some those old, well-worn stories from the Bible have lost their appeal. Many stories are viewed as supernatural tales told children.

Award-winning author and keynote speaker Joseph Ganci believes that Biblical accounts can be more than just dusty history – it can be passionately entertaining. He brings the Bible to life and rekindles the fires of ancient storytelling. He offers practical application of revelatory insights of faith, visions, and spiritual determination for modern-day living. He does it all in ways that will entertain, motivate and enlighten.

* The rock-solid cornerstone is biblical history geography.

* The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.

* The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

“I wrote my book,” Ganci stated, “as one day I was reading the Bible. It was my fifth pass from cover to cover. I had just reached Judges Six when a phrase leaped off the page – And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them ‘the waters unto Bethbarah’ and Jordan.”

“I started digging down and found it meant the shallow waters and the only fording place of the entire Jordan River. It was in effect a military dispatch – directing the army of Ephriam to cut off the desperate flight of the remaining Midian camel cavalry. Gideon would drive the enemy like hounds to the hunter. A long-held mystery started to unravel, and with that, I was off to the races.”

“Fresh insights are unearthed when discovering hidden connecting details found in ancient scripture. These viewpoints are only revealed when man’s ability has sufficiently grown, and that he is now ready to receive them. My speaking goals are to entertain, motivate and to have the audience leave enlightened and satisfied.”

Surprising Modern-Day Revelations Redefine Old Testament Revelations In ‘Gideon The Sound And The Glory’ By Award-Winning Author Joseph Ganci

In Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

Joseph Ganci, old testament revelationsRegarding the possibility of modern-day revelation, there are but two conflicting schools of thought. Catholics and Protestants hold that no modern-day revelations are possible. The Jewish faith, along with the Quakers, the Pentecostals, Charismatics and Latter-day Saints hold fast to the opposing opinion, trusting that modern-day revelation is a certainty. The arguments have been going on for centuries. Both groups remain grounded in their deeply rooted positions.

So, did God give men everything they needed to know such a long time ago? Or does revelation and the prophetic process continue into our modern day? It is a troublesome question, for both camps have millions of followers. But the question is not “Which BELIEF is correct?” The real question is instead, “What is TRUE, and what is God’s will?”

Joseph Ganci, the award-winning author of ‘Gideon The Sound And the Glory,’ believes that Old Testament revelations are the Word of God. Shining a new light on ancient texts and removing the black or white argument of the all-or-nothing question of modern-day revelations. Untangling the philosophical and theological human-made knots. And it gives us an opportunity to take a fresh look at what some consider to be traditional forgone conclusions.

“My goal was to make Gideon come alive, now and for all time,” Ganci stated. “To accomplish this feat, it had to be entertaining, inspiring, and enlightening. Mysteries long since hidden came alive, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little, until ancient puzzle pieces began to fit together. It was like going to the top of a mountain every day where no one had ever gone before. The more I pressed on to the rocky summit more and more was uncovered. Eventually, the work was accompanied by visions and dreams. Scripture study was essential as my understanding kept expanding. Serendipity and synchronicity went beyond normal coincidence. Seemingly unrelated incidents became timely in the opening of new horizons and in the very moment when required. The commentaries of noted scholars were made available and I could cherry pick the wisdom of the ages. Gideon’s saga is about unsung heroes and murderous villains that leap to life and blaze onto the pages of revelation. I press to give this work wings, but my timing and God’s timing does not always agree. This work is a classic and will remain so through future generations. This work was 101% collaboration with God. God did 101%, and I did all the rest. I have dedicated the novel to God, and by doing so, it remains a labor of love.”

Modern Day Revelations Explain Old Testament Revelations In ‘Gideon The Sound And The Glory’ By Award-Winning Author Joseph Ganci

In Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

Did God give men everything they needed to know a long time ago?

Or does revelation and the prophetic process continue into our modern day?

Is Scripture a set of understandings that must be blindly followed without the agreement of wisdom or reason?

Or does Scripture serve as a tool that enlightens minds of every age in a never-ending progression?

Some understandings have been routinely accepted for centuries by churches and organizations that hold to certain closed-minded agendas. But, is it a black and white issue?

Is it a one-or-the-other kind of question, with no in-between – no gray areas?

Joseph Ganci, award-winning author of ‘Gideon The Sound And The Glory’ believes there are many undiscovered nuggets of spiritual gold in the original manuscripts, thereby removing this conflict once and for all.

Ganci stated that “Fresh insights are unearthed when discovering hidden connecting details found in ancient scripture. These viewpoints are only revealed when man’s ability has sufficiently grown, and that he is now ready to receive them.”

“A thousand years from now,” Ganci stated, “our folklore will confirm that as a society we all took advice, knowledge, and direction from an all-knowing Oracle named Google.”

“I think that this is the time of the ‘quickening,’ meaning that man’s complete store of knowledge will continue to double. It is a time when a well-structured question can bring to light, deep wells of understanding, and a variety of possibilities long since hidden in dust and shadows.

“The earliest comments attached to biblical writings were found soon after its original publication. Modern explanation of the Old Testament, however, is harder still when considering the vast amount of time between passages. Attempting to connect the many missing dots, dates, and dashes from well-worn scriptures correctly is a massive undertaking. It is a stretch to follow the complicated ideas, language, and culture of such a bygone race of people. Making sense of their spoken customs, going over every little hint of a shadow is especially challenging. Connecting the many puzzle pieces from olden times that has been combed over by one hundred and fifty generations of scholars is especially daring. Fragments of seemingly unrelated events naturally stitch and hem together, here a little, and there a little, thus creating a patchwork of connecting threads that become a bright, attractive picture, insightful in its presentation, and yet simple and easy to imagine.”

This work is a one hundred and one percent collaboration with God. God did one hundred and one percent, and I did all the rest.”

Politicians And Leaders Who Overestimate Their Power Is Nothing New Says Joseph Ganci, Author Of New Spiritual Book, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory’

In Ganci’s innovative and highly praised novel, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Houston, TX. Sept 28, 2017] America today is sharply divided into many fronts. Immigration and patriotism, everything from travel bans to sports teams refusing to stand for the National Anthem, are but two of the issues spawning screaming headlines in practically every newspaper, television outlet, radio program, and news website. When we add to these problems demonstrations of free speech that turn violent, the threat of a nuclear war nobody wants, climate change, healthcare and endless partisan bickering, we get a sharp and apparent picture of politicians who seem to have lost their grip on reality. Many appear to be completely out of touch with the voters who put them in office in the first place. All over America, citizens are organizing to resist leaders who seem obsessed with their power to divide, as opposed to bringing the country together. Joseph Ganci, author of ‘Gideon, The Sound And The Glory’ believes that this sad turn of events is but history repeating itself.

“We need only look at a timely quote by Joseph Smith Jr.,” Ganci stated. “Smith who is venerated as a prophet and seer by his people said, ‘We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion.’ That could be rephrased today to state, ‘As soon as they (Politicians) get a little authority, as they suppose, they will demonstrate, oppressive behavior – while embracing the illusion of control over the souls of free men.”

The illusion of control

unrighteous dominion over the souls of free men.

“Many people see the Scriptures as old news, somewhat out of touch with the world as it is today,” Ganci stated. “Nothing could be further from the truth. Those who wield political power have overestimated their own power since Biblical times. For instance, in ‘Gideon’ we find this story which, with a little tweaking, could have been ripped from today’s headlines:”

“I am both Canaanite and Israelite, and as the one remaining son of Gideon, I will be the first king of this land and see to equal justice for all.”

All the men of Shechem, the House of Milo, and all the hirelings growled a weary cheer, while Ophrah looked on, dreading to hear who, or what might be next on Abimelech’s evil agenda. Abimelech continued after a brief silence. He had been expecting their acclaim and approval but received nothing from all those who had known him and his family as heroes and as pillars of the Community. Feeling disappointed, he continued, “We will replant the grove my grandfather, Joash, owned—the place that was the center of our pleasure and leisure. We will return to the worship of Baalim, and connect back to the ancient roots of our Amorite heritage. We will prosper greatly and glut our natural desires. Our city will plead with Moloch for his favor when we pass our children through the fire.”

Jadzia, Jether’s wife, now one of the many stunned and grieving widows yelled out, “Who are you, to tell us to pass our children through the inferno?” “If you truly believe this, then YOU now would be a heap of charred bone and decrepit flesh, less than carrion, not fit for worms, Abimelech.”

Abimelech, red-faced with rage addressed his former sister in law; “I will dismiss your outburst of rebellion because of your sudden sorrow, but hear me now Jadzia, if one more word passes your lips you and your children will be the first to embrace the sacrificial blaze. Do not charge me, woman, or you will join this night’s blood-soaked holocaust.”

The hush had a weight for the lack of breath. Abimelech gamely returned to his speech making without the slightest twinge of conscience or regret.

New Spiritual Book Release, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory,’ By Author Joseph Ganci

New Spiritual Book Release, ‘Gideon: The Sound And The Glory,’ Illuminates Epic Biblical Stories With Never Before Discovered Details

In this innovative debut, book lovers find themselves in the very midst of ancient conflicts, only to be swept away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture – now living lessons – filled with action and adventure.

[Wilmington, NC, August 9,  2017] Author Joseph Ganci’s new book has been called “masterfully created” and “riveting.” Can a book based on the Bible warrant such high praise? In this case, yes, as Ganci deftly turns well known Biblical tales into a book filled with riveting deeds and powerful spiritual themes.

There are many instances of epic stories from the Bible hitting the big screen, among them “The Passion of the Christ,” directed by Mel Gibson, starring Jim Caviezel and “Noah,” starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly. Ganci’s work could rank among them easily, as the epic saga he presents is both inspirational, and action packed, providing readers with startling details never revealed before.

Ganci paints a penetrating vision of long held Bible mysteries that are far and away daring and unusual. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

The rock-solid cornerstone is biblical history and geography.
The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.
The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Unsung heroes and murderous villains, hidden forever in ancient shadows, now leap to life – blazing onto the pages of revelation. Gideon, a lowly woodcutter, is blessed by an angel to be the savior of all Israel. He does not know why or how and shrinks from this dangerous mission. The commandment to conquer the Midian Empire as one man seems all but impossible. But Gideon’s confidence grows as God guides his every step until he stands fearless and faithfully fulfills his destiny as, “A mighty man of valor.” The fierce warriors, burning towers and devastated cities contained in Gideon’s Journey, are but silver threads that weave into a sweeping tapestry of ancient intrigue. Running through and stitching together the entire saga is The Lord of the Covenant, or The Baal-Berith, also known as Gideon’s mysterious Ephod of Gold.

“Why did I write about an obscure bible character?” Ganci stated. “It turns out that everyone knows the name Gideon, but few if any, know his far-reaching story? I was at the conclusion of Gideon’s very short story, of exactly seven pages, and one hundred verses. When an undiscovered mystery and an unfamiliar phrase leaped off the page.”

‘Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.’

And he said, “They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the Lord liveth if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.”

“The battle of Mount Tabor? Judges: Four and Five with its host of delicious and unforgettable characters. Gideon’s brothers were murdered by the Midian kings at that battle. A battle that had concluded forty years before the life of Gideon. An obscure mystery came to life. A blood feud, and the one word, ‘Tabor’ that inspired the first seven chapters of my revelatory novel.”

Revelations, The Fine Dust of Enlightenment

Revelations, The Fine Dust of Enlightenment

In the beginning. The following is a platform of understanding. Going forward, explaining the landscape, the time period,  and the varied unique characters that inhabit a lesser known and less appreciated parts of the old testament. Heroes and villains put on an emotional skin.  The dust of the ages come’s alive, with flesh, bone, and blood. Untold mysteries unfold that had remained hidden in plain sight for three millenniums.

Everything in this book is good, except for the things that are a knot, and the knots are not so tight. If you can hang in there
long enough, you will undoubtedly enjoy the flight.

To my sweet granddaughter and fifth-grade proofreader Claire Wellborn, violinist, and philosopher extraordinaire.

I believe in God as I believe in the sun, not because I can see the sun but because I can see everything because of the sun. And so, to his son the holy Messiah, the prince of peace, wonderful, counselor, the only begotten of the Father, my savior, my redeemer and my
friend, the everlasting Father, Jesus the Christ.

Moses flew away, for his work was done upon the earth, and the full mantle of “prophet” fell on the broad shoulders of Joshua, who had chiseled the laws of God into stone, given to all of the people of Israel. The people of Israel were now on the outskirts of Canaan, just beyond the River Jordan in the plains of Moab. They were within sight of the Promised Land, approaching the border of the land God promised to Abraham and his descendants. To assert their spiritual legacy through revelations would not be an easy undertaking. They would have to proceed by faith and rely solely on the strong hand and outstretched arm of God. The land of milk and honey was peopled by mixed and hostile populations who were violently opposed to yielding a cubit of ancestral lands—they would not go without a struggle. Canaan controlled the fertile valleys and the coastline with its unfriendly strongholds of walled cities. The high valleys were the domain of the Amorites. The Hivites, (Neo) Hittites, Jebusites, and Perizzites peopled the villages, towns, and hamlets of the central lowlands. This was Israel’s time of conquest and settlement, often by force of arms. Occasionally, an attempt was made to infiltrate peaceably. The dawning of the Age of Iron created tools and skills in the form of the Kenite heavy metal wagons of war. Superior weapons were forged to drive out the rapidly multiplying immigrants before they could lay claim to all the land of Canaan.
The three chapters, Six through Eight, of the Book of Judges, consist of exactly one hundred verses revelations that speak of the adventures of Gideon. He is an unsung hero who has been hidden in plain sight for three thousand years. The account starts with the Battle of Tabor in Judges Four, where the sons of Gideon’s mother—or Gideon’s brothers—are murdered by two princes, who were now the twin kings of the Midianite horde. The slaughter of brothers had planted the seed of a blood feud in a collision of wills. This was the dry kindling that took the spark of Gideon’s confidence and ignited in him a firestorm of resolve, resulting in the toppling of kings, gods, and generals and in the revelations of the finding of perfect love. Three ferocious battles conclude in the wake of two ruined cities. The determined pursuit of their enemies by Gideon and his men is a testament to their faith, after being refused the bread of life by both Succoth and Penuel. All this was for the redemption of Israel by the hand of God in the appearance of the least likely of heroes. Gideon was a man who was lost in the forest of fear and doubt, a weak thing of this world, who through revelations became God’s instrument of vengeance and determination, a mighty man of valor. Gideon(means hewer) a simple woodsman, one who chops and hacks and makes a path through trees. Abimelech was Gideon’s willful love child who grows to be a vengeful predator and personally kills his seventy brothers, a congress of judges, to claim to be the first king of Israel.Abimelech returns Israel to the worship of Baal, and the Ephod of Gold becomes his cornerstone. He is short-lived when his head is crushed in another attempted holocaust of fire. The Ephod of Gold is resurrected by Eli, the young priest who miraculously finds a home for it, first in Shiloh, and then in the house of God in Nob, where the shepherd boy-king David takes possession of the accursed artifact. Your eyes will be opened, and deeper understandings will be shouldered, for any and all who read these five episodes will have no doubt that there is a God in Israel.
